2025 OURCOUNTY PLAN
Originally adopted by the Board of Supervisors in August 2019, the OurCounty Sustainability Plan puts forth a bold, inclusive, and regional vision for the future of LA County. In October 2025, the plan was updated to further elevate the County's ambitious agenda and advance sustainability efforts region wide.
The 2025 OurCounty plan provides a guide to County departments, cities, and partners to improve the well-being of communities, reduce damage to the natural environment, and adapt to a changing climate. It centers the co-equal values of environment, equity, and economy, while elevating climate resilience and cross-departmental coordination to meet the challenges of the future ahead.
Priorities And Progress
Each year, the Chief Sustainability Office and County departments work with partners and stakeholders to turn the collective vision of OurCounty into a reality. Implementation of the plan is a long-term commitment, with some of the goals and targets reaching 20 years into the future. To ensure near-term progress and accountability, OurCounty action priorities are identified and reported on annually in the fall.
2019 OURCOUNTY PLAN
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors adopted the original OurCounty Sustainability Plan on August 6, 2019. (See the Board Motion). The 2019 plan was LA County’s first comprehensive regional sustainability plan, outlining how local governments and partners can work together to enhance community well-being, protect the natural environment, and adapt to our changing climate.
